Eiðisdrangar

This is one of my latest oil painting from one of my favorite spots on north shore of my island,
I used both brush and palette knife in making it and am I quite pleased
 with the result.
The most enjoyable thing for me is that,  it was selected by www.art365.is
to show in August month on their coming Calendar.

Winter Dream

This little painting is going to my Artist Friend in Cape Town, I am hoping she will like this little present, a friend of mine is bringing it to her.
The image came from my mind on to a small 15x15cm board, painted in one session.

Fish Playing Pool

This is my contribution to this week´s WDE.
I had quite a few great photos to chose from, the fish one caught my eye straight away and here is my creation plus a photo to spark my creation.  I also included my chose of colors, they are mostly transparent.  The time I took was just under two hours which I am quite happy with.

Easter Tulips

Spring is here!
I hardly ever paint flowers but when I bought this lovely bouncy of Tulips to decorate my lounge room for Easter I just had to give it a try.
I obviously did not give myself time to plan it right,  as you can see the flowers are lacking space, and
I should have made the vase smaller to allow more room for the Tulips themselves or placed the vase further away from me, I had it right beside me on the table while I painted them.
Well, one keeps learning.

The Old Summer House

The old Summer House

This little house on top of Storhofdi in Vestmannaeyjar was originally built as a "Summer house" some time before last war or before 1940 by building architect Sveinbjörn in Vestmannaeyjar.  He used it both for his family and also when he went Puffin hunting .  Today it looks like the sheep enjoy being around it.
An Australian friend of mine who was visiting a while back took this interesting photo,  I could not resist painting it.  It is only a 15x15cm oil on masonite.
I will include the photo she took for you to look at but of course I changed it a fair  bit as I could see all sorts of colors and story in it.
I hope you enjoy this little explanation.

The Gentle Cow

My friend
They have got such gentle faces, you can tell them anything and don't have to worry it getting anywhere else.
I think cows are a beautiful creatures.
