Summer in Vestmannaeyjar

WIP

Second stage

Complete!
I thought I might share with you my latest painting.
A friend and an uncle of mine asked me to do a painting for him and I thought it might be nice to paint from west of the island and have it in summer colors.
I used mainly brushes but in the foreground I used my palette knife plus a little touch on the Elephant, which is so obvious in the cliff
This is oil on stretched canvas, size 30x60cm.
Well, I have delivered the painting and my uncle was very happy with it and he has it in his lounge room to look at when he is resting.

I hope you enjoy reeding and looking at this my viewers and friends.

Exhibition at the Country Market in Hvolsvoll

View from Eidi at Vestmannaeyjar

The exhibition starts at 1. May, Labour Day.
I am working like made to have everything finished in time.  Finished painting the last painting of their local Church and one small one of kids running in autumn colors, it came as an after thought, quite nice if I my say so myself.  I will be showing about 27 small and larger paintings.
The painting above got sold this morning but I may enter it in the show, I am really happy with this one as these are the colors we see so often here in Vestmannaeyjar in the evenings.  It is in a three window carton, glass and frame, very attractive finish, don´t you think?  I took the photo after it had been framed so one can see the reflection in the glass, sorry about that.
I will enter some more photos later.

Here are some of my small paintings that will be on the show.

There had to be some animals in this country show.

Waterfall in winter

Skógafoss in Iceland
This is one of many beautiful waterfalls in south Iceland.
I painted it from a photo I took in winter time some time ago.
It is painted in oil on a 20x15cm masonite.

The Old Summer House

The old Summer House

This little house on top of Storhofdi in Vestmannaeyjar was originally built as a "Summer house" some time before last war or before 1940 by building architect Sveinbjörn in Vestmannaeyjar.  He used it both for his family and also when he went Puffin hunting .  Today it looks like the sheep enjoy being around it.
An Australian friend of mine who was visiting a while back took this interesting photo,  I could not resist painting it.  It is only a 15x15cm oil on masonite.
I will include the photo she took for you to look at but of course I changed it a fair  bit as I could see all sorts of colors and story in it.
I hope you enjoy this little explanation.

Small island west of Heimaey

Grasleysa

Hani

Hæna
These are lovely little rocky islands west of Heimaey.
They are my newest additional to my art exhibition on 15. December which will be held at the entrance of our Library.  I have been painting like mad and still working on the last one which is another portrait which I really need to finish in time!.
