This is the second order from previous customer.

They are the proud owners of the popular restaurant www.gott.is

I am working on "steinbítur" or Atlantic Wolffish

My method just for an interest:

1.  Go to the sea shore to gather rocks not to small and not too big!  Might take some time.

2.  Take home and was thoroughly, let dry, go over them with a sandpaper.

3.  Paint with Gesso, when dry, another coat with white acrylic paint.

4.  Draw up the shape of fish. 

5.  Start painting.

I always start with acrylic with three coats at least, there is a lot of mixing for each tone or color.  This time I am finishing with a Gouache which is quite enjoyable to handle because it does not dry as fast.

Walking in the Rain

I thought I might try my acrylics as it has been quite a time since I used them last.  What I will try to get out of the painting is a soft smudgy colors or rather more like abstract or expressionism.  This is only feeling my way and covering the board.  More later.....

I decided to switch over to oil as it is more comfortable to handle.  More later.....

Sketched on a Stillman & Birn, Epsilon Series Premium Sketchbook 150gsm smooth for mixed media, smooth surface with a Derwent Sketching 4B.  This is a initial start in preparation for a 24x30cm oil on stretched canvas for a new client.

It took me about 1 hour to do.

Decided to try my hand at portrait drawing as it has been too long since I have tried it.

I think I got the likness!

I used my Artline 0.5 pencil on my A5 size sketchbook paper.

Window view "Heimaklettur"

A good friend of mine asked me if I could paint our Heimaklett looking through her window where she was staying last summer.  I said I would give it a try but knew it would be a challenging job to make it look like it was seen through glass, but I had to have a go.

This is my idea drawn up with a charcoal.

I had the pleasure to be asked to join other artists to paint "Konur og Kristur"

which is going to be shown in the city Reykjavík.

We had the Bible to work from.  

I choice the saga of the woman who suffered from severe bleeding for twelve years "she came up to Jesus in a crowd of people and touched the edge of his cloak, and her bleeding stopped at once"

You can find this in LUKE 8: 43-45

I really enjoyed creating this painting, I went along I changed and added as my spirit told me.
